Oil-Immersed Distribution Transformer
This three-phase transformer is engineered for utility, industrial, infrastructure and renewable-energy distribution applications. Each unit is designed to the approved voltage ratio, kVA rating, vector group, impedance, loading cycle, installation environment and applicable standard.

Typical Configuration Range

• Capacity: Project-specific distribution and power-transformer ratings
• Primary Voltage: Through the applicable medium-voltage class, typically up to 35 kV for distribution applications
• Secondary Voltage: Project-specific low- or medium-voltage ratings
• Frequency: 50 or 60 Hz
• Cooling: ONAN; ONAF ratings available when specified
• Insulating Fluid: Mineral oil or natural ester fluid
• Winding Material: Copper or aluminum
• Core: Grain-oriented electrical steel or other approved core material
• Taps: De-energized tap changer; on-load tap changer available for applicable designs
• Vector Group: Project-specific
• Tank: Sealed tank, conservator type or other project-specific construction
• Installation: Indoor or outdoor, subject to the specified enclosure and fire-protection requirements

Protection, Monitoring and Accessories

• Pressure-relief device
• Liquid-level, pressure/vacuum and temperature gauges
• Drain, sampling and filter valves
• Buchholz relay and sudden-pressure relay for applicable designs
• Winding and oil temperature indicators
• Current transformers and metering provisions
• Surge arresters and neutral-grounding accessories
• Fans, control cabinet and communication interfaces
• Stainless-steel hardware and project-specific coating systems

Standards and Testing

IEC configurations may be engineered to the IEC 60076 series. IEEE configurations may be engineered to IEEE C57.12.00 and tested using applicable IEEE C57.12.90 methods. U.S. Department of Energy efficiency requirements under 10 CFR Part 431 apply when the transformer is within the regulated distribution-transformer scope.

Final kVA, voltage ratio, BIL, impedance, losses, temperature rise, sound level, dimensions, weight, fluid type, tank construction and accessories are confirmed during technical review and documented on approved drawings and certified test reports.
